Munchkins

Munchkin

The Munchkin is a relatively new breed of cat that has been developed through a naturally occurring genetic mutation that has resulted in cats with abnormally short legs. Despite the awkward look this gives the cat, one very similar to the Dachshund dog breed, it seemingly has no effect on how agile or mobile the Munchkin is. The Munchkin can either ben short-haired or long-haired and is of a medium size. This cat does look smaller than a medium size, but that is because the legs are shorter. The body is solid, compact and muscular and should not be too slender.

Temperament

The Munchkin is an intelligent cat that is also very social, extrovert in personality and playful. It loves the company of its human owners and loves to play with them whenever it can. It has been described as sweet-natured and friendly and therefore very good with strangers and other unfamiliar animals. The Munchkin can even be taught to play fetch and obey commands. People often refer to the Munchkin as the eternal kitten because it never loses the happy, playful and mischievous traits of a kitten throughout its life.
