The Siamese cat is one of the most recognizable and famous breeds of cat. It is an Oriental cat that is believed to be from Southeast Asia, although the exact origins of the breed are unknown. The name is thought to have derived from "Siam", which is now Thailand. They are one of several native breeds in Thailand that are collectively known as the Wichien-maat, which means Diamond Gold. The Siamese cat has become one of the most popular breeds in the world. They are recognisable by their slim and elegant appearance. They are muscular and agile cats with a triangular shaped head and a thin snout.

Temperament

The Siamese is an intelligent cat that is highly affectionate with its owner and family. They are very sociable cats and enjoy being in the presence of human beings. They are very confident cats, although some have been noted to be quite nervous and quiet. With proper socialization, the Siamese cat will bond well with small children and dogs. However, they are not suitable family cats if there are smaller pets around. These cats are very vocal and demanding in how much attention their owners give them.
