Toygers

Toyger (Tiger)

The Toyger is a recognized breed of cat that is the result of breeding Domestic Short Hair cats with the Tabby markings to make them resemble a small or "toy" tiger. Created by Judy Sugden, the breed was supposedly developed to increase awareness about the conservation of Tigers. The breed is a striking one to look at, with its very Tiger-like colors and markings. Development of the breed is ongoing to make it more Tiger-like by rounding the ears and broadening the muzzle. The Toyger is muscular and agile and moves with gracefulness, even compared to other cats.

Temperament

Loving and intelligent, the Toyger is a laid-back cat that gets along well with other animals and children. These cats are highly trainable and both active and alert. They love to spend time with their owners and family and love to play. With socialization, the Toyger will be a well-behaved and prized family pet.
